Pētījumā apskatīja mellenes rametu diametra, augstuma un vecuma struktūru dažāda vecuma nabadzīgo mežu augšanas apstākļu tipos (mētrājā un lānā). Kopumā izveidoti astoņi parauglaukumi, divi no tiem izveidoti jaunaudzē ( ~ 14 gadi), trīs vidēji vecā mežaudzē ( ~ 70 gadi) un trīs vecā mežaudzē ( ~ 120 gadi), kuros kopā ievākti 412 melleņu rametu paraugi.
This study focused on structure of diameter, height and age of bilberry in nutrient poor forest types. Eight sampling plots were established for sampling; two were located in coppice (~ 14 years old), three were located in ~ 70 - year old stand and three in ~ 120 - year old stand dominated by Scots pine. In these sites 412 bilberry samples were collected. Environmental factors such as solar radiation, stand properties (mean diameter and height) and composition of vegetation (projected cover) were determined to assess their effect on structural diversity of bilberry. Data was processed using ANOVA, analysis of correlation and linear mixed effect models.
Differences in bilberry structure (height, diameter and age) were observed in stands with diverse age. In general, coverage and structural diversity of bilberry increased with the age of the stand. There were no effect of parameters of solar radiation of structure of bilberry; however, there was a weak negative correlation between canopy gap fraction and the projected coverage of bilberry. Nevertheless, structure of bilberry ramets was significantly related with properties of tree stand.
