Abstract
The present Bachelor Thesis analyzes two Hardy’s early novels. The goal of this paper is to prove that both novels A Pair of Blue Eyes and Far from the Madding Crowd are similar. They are based on characters’ mutual relationships. In the beginning, the present paper reviews the development of Thomas Hardy’s moral and aesthetic views. It shows Hardy’s attitude towards the environment and his understanding of human relationships. The achieved effect is a contrast of fate and free will. The Conclusions arrived at the following: both novels are similar.
