| dc.description.abstract | Maģistra darba Vārdu figūras Katulla īsajos dzejoļos mērķis ir izpētīt vārdu figūru lietojuma funkciju un nozīmi latīņu dzejnieka Katulla dzejā. Darba autore izvirzīja hipotēzi, ka vārdu figūras dzejas tekstā ir autora apzināti veidotas. Mērķa sasniegšanai izvirzīti uzdevumi: apzināt biežāk lietotās vārdu figūras, noskaidrot un argumentēt to lietojuma pamatotību formas veidošanā un satura atklāsmē. Figūru apzināšanai izmantoti gan antīko (Kvintiliāns, Aristotelis, Cicerons, Longīns, Halikarnāsas Dionīsijs), gan mūsdienu (H. Lausbergs, E. Corbets) teorētiķu darbi. Darba gaitā tika izpētītas vārdu figūras Katulla 1.-60. dzejoļos, apskatītas gan atsevišķas figūras, gan vairāku figūru savienojumi, to funkcijas un nozīme tematiski un formas ziņā atšķirīgajos dzejoļos. Pētījuma rezultātā apstiprinājās izteiktā hipotēze.

| dc.description.abstract | The aim of the research project Figures of speech in Catullus’ short poems is to examine the function and meaning of figures of speech in poems of Latin poet Catullus. Author has advanced a hypothesis, that the writer’s used figures of speech are constructed with intent. Objectives assigned to reach the aim: study the figures of speech encountered most frequently, specify and substantiate the usage grounds in support of developing the form and content exposure. Ancient (Quintilian, Aristotle, Cicero, Longinus, Dionysius of Halicarnassus) and contemporary (H. Lausberg, E. Corbett) theories were employed while exploring the figures of speech. Throughout the research process Catullus’ poems 1-60 were examined, separate figures and figure conjunctions, their functions and significance were studied in poems of various themes and forms. Research results affirm the advanced hypothesis.
