Stāstījuma laiks un telpa Džamaikas Kinkaides autobiogrāfiskajā pamfletā „Mazā vieta”

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir saistīta ar stāstījuma laika un telpas uzbūvi Džamaikas Kinkaides autobiogrāfiskajā pamfletā „Mazā vieta”. Darba mērķis ir atklāt un aprakstīt stāstījuma laika un telpas uzbūvi pēckoloniālajā literatūrā. Pētījumam tika izvēlēts autobiogrāfiskais pamflets „Mazā vieta”. Šī grāmata ir lielisks pēckoloniālās literatūras piemērs, sakarā ar tās agresīvo toni attiecībā pret neokoloniālo ietekmi uz pēckoloniālo Antigvu. Autors izmanto autobiogrāfijas un pamfleta stāstījuma sajaukumu, lai atklātu koloniālās pagātnes darbu attīstību mūsdienu Antigvā. Stāstījuma laiks un telpa tiek veidoti izmantojot dažādus gramatiskus un stilistiskus paņēmienus, koloniālā diskursa tropus un metatekstualitāti.

The theme of this Bachelor Thesis is concernend with the construction of narrative time and space in Jamaica Kincaid's autobiographical pamphlet A Small Place. The goal of this research is to interpret and analyze the construction of narrative time and space in postcolonial literature. For this research, an autobiographical pamphlet A Small Place was chosen. This book is a great example of postcolonial literature, due to its literary mastery and power in raising political issues of a neo-colonial influence upon postcolonial Antigua. The writer uses a narrative hybrid of autobiography and pamphlet to uncover the workings of the colonial past on the development of nowadays Antigua. Narrative time and space are constructed by using different grammatical and stylistic devices, tropes of colonial discourse and metatextuality.
