Viktorijas laika sievietes attēlojums Oskara Vailda komēdijās

Abstract

Šajā bakalaura darbā tiek pētīts Viktorijas laikmeta sievietes tēls, kā pamatu ņemot Oskara Vailda komēdijas. Teorētiskā daļa iepazīstina lasītājus ar īsu Vailda biogrāfiju, piedāvā ievadsadaļu par komēdijām vispārībā un to galvenajiem mērķiem, kā arī atspoguļo Viktorijas laikmetu ar tā sabiedrību un īpatnībām. Praktiskajā daļā tiek aprakstīts Oskara Uailda personīgais piegājiens sieviešu raksturu aprakstīšanā viņa komēdijās un piedāvāta smalka analīze, kurā tiek pamatīgi pētītas sievietes, Oskara Vailda komēdiju varones. Analīzei tika izvēlētas četras komēdijas: “Lady Windermere’s Fan”, “A Woman of No Importance”, “An Ideal Husband” un “The Importance of Being Earnest”. Šā darba mērķis ir nodemonstrēt Vailda varoņu pretrunīgumu un salīdzināt tās ar īstajām Viktorijas laikmeta pārtstāvēm. Šis pētnieciskais darbs var būt noderīgs tiem, kas ir ieinteresēti Viktorijas laikmetā, tā literatūrā un sabiedrībā.

In the present Bachelor Paper the portrayal of the Victorian woman is examined on the basis of Oscar Wilde’s comedies. The theoretical part of the paper introduces the readers with a brief Wilde’s biography, offers a short induction to a comedy and its general aims, and depicts the Victorian age, its peculiarities and society. The practical part of the paper calls attention to Wilde’s individual approach of depicting the women in his literary works and proceed to a thorough analysis of all the female characters present in the following Oscar Wilde’s comedies: “Lady Windermere’s Fan”, “A Woman of No Importance”, “An Ideal Husband” and “The Importance of Being Earnest”. The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate the contradictory nature of Wilde’s female characters and compare them with the Victorian women in origin. The research may be useful for those who are interested in the Victorian age, its literature and society.
