Stāstītājs un stāstījums Daniela Defo darbos "Molla Flandersa" un "Roksana"

Abstract

Šis bakalaura darbs aplūko stāstītāja un stāstījuma tēmu Daniela Defo romānos Moll Flanders un Roksana. Darbs sastāv no trim nodaļām. Pirmā nodaļa sniedz priekšstatu par galvenajām problēmām sieviešu dzīvēs 18. gadsimta Lielbritānijas socio-vēsturiskajā fonā, kā arī iztīrza tā laika sievietes dzīves attēlojumu Daniela Defo romānos. Tikmēr otrajā nodaļā izvēlētie romāni tiek analīzēti sīkāk attiecībā uz stāstītāju paštēlojumu aprakstiem, atzīšanām par kārdinājumiem un iemesliem savās dzīvēs, attieksmēm pret ģimeni un laulību, savu kriminālizturēšanās un nožēlu, kā arī dzīves beigas atspoguļojumiem. Saskaņa ar pētījuma rezultātiem, stāstītāju dzīves attēlojums Daniela Defo romānos Moll Flanders un Roksana demonstrē, ka likumdošanas trūkumi un divējādi sociālie standarti, kurus ievēroja 18. gadsimta Lielbritānijā, bieži ietekmēja sieviešu dzīves negatīvi.

The present Bachelor thesis explores the theme of narrator and narration in Daniel Defoe’s novels Moll Flanders and Roxana. The paper comprises two chapters. The first chapter deals with major issues on the life of English women in the 18th century against the socio-historical background of Britain of that period, as well as analyzes the depiction of 18th century women’s life in England as it is narrated in Daniel Defoe’s novels Moll Flanders and Roxana. Meanwhile, the second chapter analyses the selected novels in relation to their narrators’ self-portrayals, confessions about temptations and reasons in their lives, attitudes to family, sex and marriage, as well as their stories about their criminal behaviour and penitence, and their depiction of the end of life. The research reveals that the narrators’ depiction of their life stories in Daniel Defoe’s novels Moll Flanders and Roxana shows that drawbacks in legislation as well as social double standards proclaimed in 18th century Britain often had a negative affect upon women.
