Sieviete un laikmets brāļu Kaudzīšu romānā „Mērnieku laiki”

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs ir veidots kā ieskats romānā un tā kontekstā sievietes un laikmeta problemātikas izpētē. Darbs ir strukturēts četrās nodaļās un vairākās apakšnodaļās. 19. gs. II pusi latviešu sabiedrībā raksturo jaunu sieviešu centieni izglītoties, iesaistīties sabiedriskajos procesos, iegūt vienlīdzīgas tiesības ar vīriešiem. Romāns atklāj robežšķirtni starp vecajām tradīcijām un jauno laikmetu. Darbā izmantota kultūrvēsturiskā un biogrāfiskā metode. Darba mērķis ir pierādīt, ka autori romānā sieviešu tēlus ir veidojuši balstoties uz 19.gs.II puses sabiedrībā notiekošajiem procesiem. Tā sasniegšanai tika izmantoti zinātniski pētījumi par romānu, 19.gs. II puses publicistika, iepriekš pietiekami nenovērtētie brāļu Kaudzīšu raksti, kuros skarti jautājumi par sievietes izglītību un lomu sabiedrībā.Rakstnieki romānā katru sieviešu tēlu vai tēlu grupu ir veidojuši atbilstoši 19. gadsimta svarīgākajiem notikumiem.

The Bachelor`s work gives an insight in the image of women in the novel „Surveyor Times” (1879) and the changing role of woman in Latvian society at the 2nd half of the 19.century. It consists of four chapters and several subchapters. The second half of 19th century in Latvian society is characterized by young Latvian woman endeavour for education, taking part in social processes and gaining equal rights with men. The novel delineates the border between the old patriarchal society and the rising new age. The aim of the work is to prove that the women characters of the novel act according to the processes in Latvian society in the second half of the 19th century. Periodicals and previous scientific publications are used to achieve the aim of this work. The research concludes that brothers Kaudzītes in the second half of the 19th century used each women or character group to depict significant events in Vidzeme countryside and society.
