Dzimtes attiecību atainojums post-feminisma perioda sieviešu literatūrā

Abstract

Šīs darbs piedāvā pētījumu par dzimtes attiecību pārformulējumu postfeminisma perioda sieviešu literatūrā (chick literature), konkrēti analizējot Laurenas Vaisbergereas (Lauren Weisberger) romānu “Atriebība velkā Prada” (Revenge Wears Prada, 2013). Darba mērķis ir izpētīt kā kultūr-vidē tiek konstruēta sievišķības un vīrišķības nozīme, kā tā tiek risināta sieviešu literatūrā, un kā šī nozīme mijiedarbojas ar varas attiecībām mūsdienu post feminisma kontekstā. Pētījumā tiek izmantotas gan teorētiskās, gan empīriskas pētniecības metodes. Empīriskā pētījuma rezultāti, izmantojot satura analīzes metodi, demonstrē, ka romāns ir mūsdienu sieviešu literatūras (chick lit) žanra mutācijas paveids, iekļaujot žanram neraksturīgas laulības un mātes tēmas. Dzimtes attiecības tiek veidotas saskaņā ar heteroseksuālo attiecību normu un pauž post feminisma laika diskursam raksturīgās pretrunas un ambivalenci: neatkarīga, patstāvīga sieviete, kura var uzplaukt tikai spēcīga vīrieša aizsegā. This paper proposes a study of a postfeminist interpretation of gender relations in chick literature, namely the novel Revenge Wears Prada (2013) by Lauren Weisberger. The purpose of the study is to investigate how the cultural meanings of femininity and masculinity are addressed in chick literature, and how they interrelate in the power relations of the contemporary– postfeminist – context. The study employs both theoretical and empirical research methods. Empirical research results, applying content analysis methods, demonstrate that the novel represents a contemporary off-shoot of the genre and includes the themes of the marriage and motherhood. Gender relations are constructed along heterosexual norm and convey the controversy and ambivalence inherent to the postfeminist discourses: an independent and self-made woman, who thrives if sheltered by a strong male.
