Abstract

Valentīnas Valteres bakalaura darbs „Pārdabiskais Čārlza Dikensa prozā” sastāv no ievada, 3 daļām un secinājuma. Ievadā tiek identificēta darbā pētāmā problēma, definēts darba mērķis un uzdevumi, kā arī sniegts pētījumu raksturojums. Pirmajā nodaļā autore analizē pārdabiskā tipus, kas ir aprakstīti un bieži sastopami Dikensa prozā. Tiek atzīmēts, ka visvairāk savos stāstos rakstnieks attēlo spokus. Valentīna Valtere’s Bachelor paper ”The Supernatural in Ch. Dickens’s Fiction” consists of introduction, three main parts and conclusion. The introduction identifies the problem researched in the paper, defines the goal and the tasks and also provides the characteristics of the research. In the first chapter the author analyzes the types of the supernatural, which are described and often found in Dickens’s fiction. It is pointed out that ghosts are most frequently depicted in the stories of the writer. The second chapter examines narrative elements masterfully applied by Dickens in reflecting the specific features of the supernatural. These methods are closely connected, supplementing each other. As the result they create an appropriate background for the description of the ghostly events, the supernatural creatures and the misterious details. The third chapter investigates comic aspects in Dickens’s fiction. It proves that in creating his stories the writer applies a well-considered and artful approach, which lets him unite two opposite things – fear and laughter. For example, his characters are endowed with an excellent sense of humour. In conclusion the author of the paper sums up the results of the research and analysis performed in her paper.
