Sievietes spēks Šarlotes Brontē romānos "Džeina Eira" un "Šērlija"

Abstract

Šī bakalaura darba nosaukums ir „Sievietes spēks Šarlotes Brontē romānos „Džeina Eira” un „Širlija”” (”Power of women in Charlotte Bronte’s novel Shirley and Jane Eyre”). Darba kopējais apjoms ir 55 (piecdesmit piecas) lapas un tas sastāv no 3 (trīs) daļām. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir raksturot karalienes Viktorijas laika sabiedrību un noteikt sievietes lielo lomu tajā, kā arī analizēt Šarlotes Brontē romānus „Džeina Eira” un „Širlija”, lai izprastu sievietēm piemītošo spēku, kas bija nepieciešams, lai pārvarētu sabiedrības aizspriedumus pret šo dzimumu un ne tikai cīnītos, bet arī lauztu sabiedrībā valdošos stereotipus par „vājā” dzimuma pārstāvēm - sievietēm. Diplomdarba mērķu sasniegšanai tika izmantota visa pieejamā informācija par karalienes Viktorijas laika sabiedrību, tās dzīvesveidu un sievietes vietu tajā kā arī informācija, kas pieejama par Šarlotes Brontē literāro darbību. Analizējot romānus tika izmantoti citāti no romāniem „Džeina Eira” un „Širlija”, lai sekmīgāk atainotu romānos valdošo gaisotni un, tādējādi, ar dialogu un autores vārdu palīdzību izprastu romānu galvenās varones – sievietes un spēku, kuru tām nācās atrast, lai izdzīvotu skarbajos sabiedrības aizspriedumos.

The title of the following Bachelor paper is „Power of women in Charlotte Bronte’s novel “Jane Eyre” and “Shirley” (Sievietes spēks Šarlotes Brontē romānos „Džeina Eira” un „Širlija”). The total amount of the paper is 55 (fifty five) pages and it consists of 3 (three) parts. The aim of the Bachelor paper is to characterize the society of the Victorian era and state the big role of women in it as well as analyze Charlotte Brontë’s novels Jane Eyre and Shirley to understand the power that is necessary to women in order to overcome the preconceptions towards this gender and not only struggle but also break the stereotypes which exist within the society regarding the representatives of the “weak” gender – women. All the available information on the society of the Victorian era, its lifestyle and role of women in this society as well as all the available information on Charlotte Brontë’s literary achievements is used to achieve the aims of this Diploma paper. Quotations from novels Jane Eyre and Shirley are used during the analysis in order to show the aura of both the novels and with the help of dialogues and narration understand the main heroines of the novel and the strength that they have to find in order to survive in the cruel prejudices of the society.
