„Mabinogions” kā viens no viduslaiku karaļa Artūra leģendu avotiem Britānijā

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir ‘”Mabinogions” kā viens no viduslaiku karaļa Artūra leģendu avotiem Britānijā’. „Mabinogions” ir velsiešu mitoloģisko stāstu krājums, kas tiek uzskatīts par īstenu Britānijas mantojumu, jo tas atklāj ķeltu kultūras un cilvēku būtību. Vairāki stāsti aplūko konkrēti karaļa Artūra leģendas, sniedzot lasītājam informāciju par karali Artūru un viņa galmu. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt „Mabinogionā” iekļautos velsiešu stāstus un atrast tajos karaļa Artūra leģendu iezīmes. Lai sasniegtu šo mērķi, darba autors pētīja ķeltu kultūru, īpaši pievēršot uzmanību velsiešu tradīcijām. Bakalaura darba autors pielietoja strukturālisma metodi. Darba praktiskā daļa sastāv no velsiešu stāstu „Kā Kiluks ieguva Olvenu par sievu”, „Ronabvija sapnis” un „Maksena sapnis” analīzes. Stāstiem, kas iekļauti krājumā „Mabinogions”, piemīt mitoloģisks raksturs, jo neskaitot ķeltu tradīcijas, tie ietver arī ķeltu dievības. Tā kā mīti un leģendas ir savstarpēji saistīti , tā arī „Mabinogions” un karaļa Artūra leģendas ir savstarpēji saistītas. Iepriekš minēto stāstu uzbūve palīdzēja izprast velsiešu mītu īpatnības un to saistību ar karaļa Artūra leģendām.

The theme of the present Bachelor thesis is ‘”Mabinogion” as One of the Sources for Medieval Arthurian Legends in Britain’. “Mabinogion” is the collection of the Welsh mythological tales, which are regarded as the true heritage of Britain, as it reveals the essence of the Celtic culture and people. Several tales are dealing directly with the Arthurian legends, providing the information about the exploits of King Arthur and his court. The purpose of the present paper is to explore the Welsh tales included in the collection considered as “The Mabinogion” in order to find the early traces of Arthurian legend. In order to achieve the stated purpose the author of the present paper realized the study on the Celtic culture, particularly considering the Welsh traditions. The method in the study of myths, namely structuralism, was adopted in the present research. The practical part of the present paper was based on the analysis of the Welsh tales “How Culhwch Won Olwen”, “The Dream of Rhonabwy”, and “The Dream of Maxen”. The tales included in the collection “The Mabinogion” are of a mythological character, because apart the Celtic traditions, they involve the presence of the Celtic deity. As myths and legends are closely related, “The Mabinogion” and Arthurian legends are connected as well. The structuring of the certain tales helped to comprehend the peculiarities of the Welsh myths and the connection with Arthurian legends.
