Kam pieder Latvijas meži? Materiāli iesakņotas meža izmantošanas un apsaimniekošanas racionalitātes

Abstract

Attīstības diskursā par vienu no galvenajiem valsts labklājības pamatiem tiek uzskatīta spēja efektīvi izmantot un apsaimniekot tai pieejamos dabas resursus. Latvijas nozīmīgākais dabas resurss it meži. Šī darba fokuss ir atšķirīgās racionalitātes, kas veido un ietekmē šī resursa izmantošanu un apsaimniekošanu. Jautājums tiek aplūkot etnogrāfiski – izmantojot datus no lauka pētījuma Latvijas ziemeļu pierobežā, un tos aplūkojot plašākā sociālajā un politiskajā kontekstā. Darbā tiek izmantoti tādi teorētiski koncepti kā racionalitāte, neoliberālisms un materialitāte. No datiem iespējams secināt, ka meža nozares darbinieku racionalitātes izpaužas caur lielā mērā situatīviem un improvizētiem apgalvojumiem.

Development discourse presents efficient management of natural resources as one of the cornerstones of national wealth and prosperity. Latvia's most important natural resource is its forests. The focus of this research are the multiple rationalities that shape the usage and management of this resource. The inquiry is ethnographic – the data gathered during field work at the Northern Latvia is contextualized within a wider social and political context. The analysis is based around the theoretical concepts of rationality, neo-liberalism and materiality. It can be concluded that the multiple rationalities mostly are expressed as situational and improvised statements.
