Angļu personvārdu atveide latviešu valodā , tulkojot Eiropas parlamenta runas

Abstract

Maģistra darbā tiek pētīta angļu personvārdu atveide, tulkojot Eiropas Parlamenta plenārsēžu debates. Pētījuma mērķis ir konstatēt, cik lielā mērā angļu personvārdi atbilst Ministru kabineta noteiktajām atveides normām, kā arī novērtēt, kādēļ atveidojot personvārdus radušās atkāpes no atveides principiem. Vienlaikus darbā tiek apzinātas iespējas, kā uzlabot angļu īpašvārdu atveides kvalitāti mutiskajā tulkošanā. Pētījumā tika atklāts, ka tulkojot Eiropas Parlamenta plenārsēžu debates, rodas dažādas problēmas pielāgot angļu personvārdus noteiktajiem atveides principiem latviešu valodā. Tas saistīts gan ar konferenču tulkošanas specifiku, gan ar personvārdu atveides principu neievērošanu. Daudzos gadījumos, īpaši atveidojot personvārdus, kas nav pazīstami, tika novērotas atkāpes no angļu personvārdu atveides principiem, kas rada dažādas atveides variācijas latviešu valodā. Atveides variācijas tiek lietotas atkārtoti, kļūstot par atveides normu konkrētajā darba vidē. Pētījumā vienlaikus tiek atklāta angļu personvārdu izstrādāto atveides principu nepietiekamība un nepieciešamība jau esošos atveides principus papildināt ar atveidei būtiskiem papildus principiem.

This thesis explores the English proper names while interpreting the plenary debates at the European Parliament. The goal of this research is to analyse to what extent the Latvian reproduction of English proper names correspond to the reproduction principles set by the Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia. It examines why the deviations of the set norms for reproduction into Latvian take place. It also sets goals for improving the quality of reproduced English proper names into Latvian. One could conclude that there are certain difficulties which the interpreters face while interpreting plenary debates at the European Parliament and dealing with the English proper names. The said difficulties occur due to various factors, on the one hand it attributes to processing errors while interpreting and on the other hand the lack of observing the set principles for dealing with proper names. On many occasions, especially if the English proper names were not well known, the deviations occurred which leads to several Latvian versions for the same English proper name during the interpretation. These versions keep reappearing and have already created a certain kind of norm in the interpreting community where they are used. This thesis also discloses the lack of set principles for reproducing English proper names into Latvian and suggests adding some extra rules to the existing ones.
