No veselības aprūpes līdz veselības veicināšanai: sabiedrības veselības attīstība Malaizijā

Abstract

Mūsdienās veselības aprūpe ir neatņemamā attīstīto valstu pārvaldīšanas joma, un Malaizija sniedz spilgtu piemēru veselības aprūpes sistēmas attīstīšanā. Pārmantojot veselības aprūpes infrastruktūru no Britu koloniālās valdības, valsts to ir attīstījusi un sasniegusi relatīvi augstu kvalitātes un pieejamības līmeni. Diemžēl, kā daudzās valstīs ar lielākoties subsidētajiem veselības aprūpes pakalpojumiem, to finansēšana valsts budžetam kļūst postoša, tādējādi Malaizijas valsts cenšas transformēt iedzīvotāju attieksmi pret savu veselību, un vienlaikus optimizēt veselības aprūpes infrastruktūras darbību un palielināt tās efektīvitāti.

Healthcare nowadays is an essential part of governance of developed countries, and Malaysia is an outstanding example of a rather successful development of a healthcare system. The system it has inherited from the British colonial administration had been elaborated and currently it has reached relatively high levels of quality and delivery. Still – as in the other countries where healthcare is largely subsidized by the state – the financing of public healthcare is becoming a burden for the state budget. Hence the state tends to transform the mindsets of the people for them to take more responsibility for their own health, and on the other hand – to optimize the existing healthcare infrastructure in order to enhance its efficiency and effectiveness.
