Tulka loma policijā

Abstract

Diplomdarbs „Tulka loma policijā” sniedz ieskatu juridisku jautājumu mutvārdu tulkošanā, kas pamatojas uz tulka darbu policijā, vadoties pēc darba autores personīgās pieredzes. Tajā ir iekļautas atsevišķas atsauces arī uz tiesu tulkošanu, jo tā praksē nereti ir saistīta ar tulkošanu policijā. The diploma paper „The role of interpreter working in police” describes interpreting of legal issues based on interpreter’s work in the police, supplemented also with the author’s personal experience. There are also included some remarks about court interpreting, because it is often connected with interpreting in the police. This diploma paper is an attempt to summarize and to analyze those specific features, which the interpreter has to face while interpreting legal and police issues. The author deals with the controversial issue about the code of ethics and moral dilemma. There is included description about the necessity to define exact standards and trainings in this field. This diploma paper can be of use for interpreters working in the police and other legal enforcement institutions, in order to be more successful in difficult situations and to realize their important role in this specific form of interpreting.
