Latviešu valodā neesošo angļu valodas ekonomikas terminu tulkošana

Abstract

Latvijas tulki visās nozarēs satiekas ar nopietnām problēmām, saistītām ar to, ka latviešu valodā trūkst ekvivalentu angļu valodā izmantotim terminiem. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt problēmas, ar kurām saskaras tulki, un formulēt vadlīnijas, kas varētu viņiem palīdzēt tulkot šādus terminus. Šī darba loks ir sašaurināts līdz ekonomikas sfērai, un visi termini ir ņemti no The Economist žurnāla rakstiem. Pētnieciskā metode ir diskursa analīze uz darba autora veiktas situācijas analīzes pamata. Šā darba rezultāti ir: teorētiskās vadlīnijas, metožu un padomju kopsavilkums, kas palīdzēs tulkiem strādāt ar grūti tulkojamiem terminiem, kā arī šajā pētījumā iztulkoto terminu vārdnīca.

The Latvian translators of all the domains encounter serious problems due to the shortage of specialist terms in the Latvian language that would correspond to those used in the English language. The purpose of the present thesis is to investigate the problems that translators deal with and to formulate the guidelines that might foster translating these unparalleled terms. The scope of the present thesis is limited to the domain of Economese and all the terms are extracted from the articles of The Economist. The research method is discourse analysis based on the case study conducted by the author of the paper. The results of this thesis are: a set of theoretical guidelines and a compilation of methods and recommendations that would help translators to deal with the terms in question, as well as a glossary of terms translated in the case study.
