Dziesmu melodijas un dziesmu vārdi angļu valodas apguvē

Abstract

The goal of the present Master paper is to analyze whether the implementation of music and lyrics facilitates the development of listening comprehension skills if the musical material is chosen taking in consideration learners’ needs and interests, their proficiency level and is presented with a gradually increasing degree of complexity of the presented material. The theme of the paper is important as the results of national centralized examinations show that the lowest scores are received in the listening part, thus the ways how teachers teach listening skills are to be improved and altered. Chapter 1 discusses the students’ needs analysis, the EFL curriculum for secondary schools and the Common European Framework. Chapter 2 looks at the communication theories and the importance of developed listening skills. Chapter 3 focuses on the theory on listening skills and stages of listening activities as well as examines the common viewpoints of the implementation of songs and lyrics in the development of listening skills. Chapter 4 deals with the analysis of the piloted lessons and gives relevant suggestions to language teachers, evaluation of the listening activities in secondary English course books.

Maģistra darba mērķis ir analizēt, vai dziesmu un dziesmu vārdu izmantošana, ņemot vērā skolēnu intereses un vajadzības, zināšanu līmeni un pakāpenisku sarežģītības pakāpes palielināšanu, uzlabo klausīšanās prasmju attīstību. Maģistra darba tēma ir svarīga, jo valsts eksāmenu rezultāti klausīšanās daļā ir neapmierinoši zemi, salīdzinot ar pārējām trim valsts eksāmena daļām. Tātad klausīšanās prasmju attīstīšanas metodes būtu jāmaina. Darba pirmajā nodaļā analizēti skolēnu un skolotāju aptauju rezultāti, angļu valodas vidusskolas ieteicamā programma un Eiropas Savienības kopējās nostādnes svešvalodas apguves procesā. Darba otrajā nodaļā apskatītas sazināšanās teorijas un izskaidrota attīstītu klausīšanās prasmju nozīme. Darba trešajā nodaļā analizēts teorētiskais materiāls par klausīšanās prasmju attīstīšanu, kā arī apskatīti uzskati par dziesmu un dziesmu vārdu izmantošanu klausīšanās prasmju attīstīšanā. Ceturtajā nodaļā vērtēts eksperimentālo stundu darbs, piedāvāti saistoši ieteikumi valodu skolotājiem, kā arī analizēti trīs angļu valodas mācību grāmatu klausīšanās uzdevumi.
