Abstract

Dž. Ostinas romāns „Mensfīldas parks” ir autores trešais publicētais darbs. Šis darbs tiek uzskatīts par mazāk populāru nekā pārējie Dž. Ostinas darbi. Tam par iemeslu tiek minēts gan tas, ka romāna darbība ir pārāk izstiepta, gan arī īpatnējais galvenās varones Fanijas Praisas tēls. Līdz 2007.gada sākumam romāns „Mensfīldas parks” bija ekranizēts tikai divas reizes. Pirmā ekranizācija, kuras režisors ir Deivids Džailzs, parādījās 1983. gadā kā BBC televīzijas seriāls. Romāna otra kinoversija ir uzņemta 1999.gadā kā mākslas filma studijā Miramax Kanādas režisores Patrīcijas Rozemas vadībā. BBC seriāla centrā ir romāna galvenās varones Fanijas Praisas un viņas morāles principu atveidojums. Studijas Miramax filmā ir paplašināts tēmu loks un dramatizēts ne tikai Fanijas Praisas tēls, bet arī pārējo svarīgāko varoņu atveidojums. “Mansfield Park” is J. Austen’s third published novel. Among her writings this novel is supposed to be the least popular. As the main reason might be the lack of passion and the strangeness of the main heroine Fanny Price. Till the beginning of the 2007 the novel “Mansfield Park” was adapted on the screen only two times. The first adaptation, of 1983, was directed by David Giles as the BBC version. The second adaptation was made in 1999, directed by Canadian director Patricia Rozema in the Miramax Studio. The BBC adaptation concentrates on the depiction of the main character of the novel Fanny Price and her principles of morality. In the Miramax film the range of themes is enlarged and not only the depiction of Fanny Price but also other the most important characters of the novel are dramatized. The aim of the paper is to compare different interpretations and to analyse the depiction of the characters and their relationship in both film versions. Key words: J.
