| dc.description.abstract | Jūlijas Davidovičas bakalaura darbs analizē reliģiskos simbolus un tēmas Džona Apdaika literārajos darbos, proti, «Rabbit...» tetraloģijā. Darbs sastāv no piecām nodaļām. Pirmā nodaļa dod ieskatu par autora dzīvi, par viņa filozofiju, kā arī par teologiem, uz kuru mācībām balstās Apdaika reliģiskie uzskati. Katra nākamā nodaļa atbilst konkrētai tetraloģijas daļai un Amerikas vēstures posmam. Otrā nodaļa dod ieskatu «Rabbit, Run» - 1. tetraloģijas daļas - reliģiskajā simbolikā, un dod priekšstatu par ASV 50.gados. Trešā nodaļa veltīta «Rabbit Redux,» priekšstatiem par brīvību ASV 60. gados. Ceturtā nodaļa piedāvā ieskatu «Rabbit is Rich» no patērnieciskuma skatpunkta Amerikā 70. gados, un piektā nodaļa analizē «Rabbit at Rest» un dod ieskatu par priekšstatiem par nāvi, kā arī strauju tehnoloģiju attīstību ASV 80. gados. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Jūlija Davidoviča’s Bachelor Paper analyzes religious symbols and themes in John Updike’s fiction, namely, “Rabbit...” tetralogy. The paper consists of five chapters. The first chapter deals with the life of the author, his philosophy, as well as the theologians whose ideas have formed Updike’s religious outlook. The second chapter is focused on religious symbolism of “Rabbit, Run” - the first book in “Rabbit...” series,” as well as the USA in the 50s. The third chapter is devoted to “Rabbit Redux,” the notion of freedom and the USA in the 60s. The fourth chapter examines “Rabbit is Rich” from the point of view of consumerism in the USA in the 70s, and, finally, the fifth chapter analyzes “Rabbit at Rest” and gives an insight into the notion of death and the rapid growth of technology in the USA in the 80s. | en_US |
