Modernā romantiskā romāna žanra īpatnības Frānsisa Skota Ficdžeralda darbā „Ir maiga nakts” un Maksa Bīrboma darbā „Zuleika Dobsone”

Abstract

Šī maģistra darba tēma ir „Modernā romantiskā romāna žanra īpatnības Frānsisa Skota Ficdžeralda darbā „Ir maiga nakts” un Maksa Bīrboma darbā „Zuleika Dobsone”. Romances romāna nozīmīgums ir nenoliedzams. Motīvi, darbības vieta un laiks un varoņu atveidojums romances romānos laika gaitā ir mainījies, un apakšžanru daudzveidība ir milzīga. Šī darba mērķis ir noteikt, kā mūsdienu romances romāna raksturīgās īpatnības ir atveidotas Frānsisa Skota Ficdžeralda romānā „Ir maiga nakts” un Maksa Bīrboma romānā „Zuleika Dobsone”. Pētījuma rezultāti atklāja, ka romānu galvenie varoņi tikai daļēji sakrīt ar tipiska varoņa/varones aprakstu, savukārt veids, kādā ir būvētas un attīstītas mīlas attiecības, nemaz nav tipisks un tradicionāls.

The topic of the present master thesis is ‘Peculiarities of Contemporary Romance Genre in Tender is the Night by Francis Scott Fitzgerald and Zuleika Dobson by Max Beerbohm.’ The significance of romance novel is undeniable. The motifs, the setting and the representation of characters of romance novels have changed over time and the variety of subgenres is overwhelming. The goal of the present paper is to discover how the characteristic features of the contemporary romance novel are represented in the novels Tender is the Night by Francis Scott Fitzgerald and Zuleika Dobson by Max Beerbohm. The results of the study revealed that the main characters of the novels coincide with the description of a typical heroes/heroines only partially, while the way love relationships are built and developed is nowhere near typical or traditional.
