Standartizētas terminoloģijas loma tehniskajā dokumentācijā

Abstract

Standartizēta terminoloģija var sekmēt komunikāciju gan starp vienas, gan dažādu valodu pārstāvjiem, tomēr tas, cik veiksmīgi standartizētie termini var tikt pielāgoti katrai konkrētajai situācijai, ir atkarīgs no daudziem faktoriem. Maģistra darba mērķis ir izpētīt cik lielā mērā kontekstam atbilstoša terminoloģija un labi uzrakstīts dokuments ietekmē informācijas uztveršanu. Izmantotās pētīšanas metodes ir literatūras apskats un tehniskajā specifikācijā un aprakstā pieļauto terminoloģisku kļūdu, kā arī rediģēšanas nepilnību analīze. Pētījuma rezultāti rāda, ka ļoti šaurām nozarēm paredzēta standartizēta terminoloģija ir salīdzinoši mazs attīstīta, kas kopā ar avottekstā pieļautajām kļūdām var ievērojami ietekmēt to, cik labi mērķauditorija uztver informāciju. Standardized terminology can facilitate successful communication within one language as well as among users of different languages but there are a number of factors that determine the potential of standardized terms to adjust to particular contextual situations. The purpose of the Thesis is to study how contextually appropriate terminology and a well written document influence the overall impact of conveyed information. The research methods applied are literature review and analysis of terminological as well as editing issues in a technical specification and description. The results of the research show that standardized terminology contributes very little to extremely narrow technical fields which in combination with mistakes in the ST might significantly affect the way the information is perceived by the end user.
