Vēstījuma īpatnības Dž. Konrāda romānos „Tumsas sirds” un „Lords Džims”

Abstract

J. Konrāda romāni „Tumsas sirds” un „Lords Džims” ir starp labākajiem Konrāda darbiem. Abu romānu vēstījums ir sarežģīts un tajos paustās morāles vērtības nav zaudējušas savu aktualitāti arī šodien, tādēļ, lai gan romāni ir uzrakstīti 19. gadsimta beigās, tie joprojām tiek pētīti un izraisa lielu interesi. Bakalaura darba temats ir „Vēstījuma īpatnības J. Konrāda romānos „Tumsas sirds” un „Lords Džims””. Tajā raksturoti un analizēti literāri līdzekļi, kurus J. Konrāds izmantojis šajos romānos – sižeta veidojums, tēlu raksturojums, vietas apstākļi, dabas apraksti un stāstītāji. J. Konrāda romānu vēstījuma analīze balstīta uz literatūras teorētiķu atziņām. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka J. Konrāda izmantotie paņēmieni ir savstarpēji saistīti un to izmantošanas mērķis ir atklāt cilvēka iekšējos konfliktus un sarežģītās attiecības starp indivīdu un sabiedrību.

J. Conrad’s novels “Heart of Darkness” and “Lord Jim” are considered among his greatest works. Although both novels are written at the end of the nineteenth century, they arose interest and are widely studied because of the complexity of their narrative and moral ideas, which still bear validity. The title of bachelor paper is “The Peculiarities of Narrative in Conrad’s “Heart of Darkness” and “Lord Jim””. Bachelor paper is devoted to the analysis of three constituents of novel – plot, characterization, setting, and point of view in two J. Conrad’s novels. The analysis of the narrative of J. Conrad’s novels is based on theoretical sources and the focus of the present paper is on the peculiarities of J. Conrad’s narrative method. The results of the research reveal that all the narrative methods analyzed in the present paper are interconnected and contribute to the portrayal of man’s inner conflicts and complex relationship between individual and society.
