Vahhābisms mūsdienu Saūda Arābijā

Abstract

„Vahhābisms mūsdienu Saūda Arābija” darba autors piedāvā pētījumu par vienu no pretrunīgākām islāma kustībām – vahhābismu. Šī kustības neiecietīga doktrīna vienmēr izraisīja diskusijas Islāma pasaule, taču 2001. gada 11. septembra notikumu kontekstā, tā piesaistīja rietumu zinātnieku un žurnālistu interesi. Pētot vahhābisma mijiedarbību ar dažādiem politiskiem spēkiem, autors vēlas noskaidrot cik liela mēra šī kustība ir saistīta ar musulmaņu terorisma uzplaukumu un kāda loma ir vahhābītu doktrīnai mūsdienu Saūda Arābijas karalistē. In the paper “Wahhabism in Modern Saudi Arabia” author offers a research of one of the most controversial movements of Islam – wahhabism. The intolerant doctrine of this movement had always caused discussions in the Muslim world, but after the events of 9th September of 2001 it attracted attention of western scholars and journalists. By researching the interaction of wahhabism and various political power, author wants to study out how is this movements connected to the flourishing of Muslim terrorism and what is the role of wahhabis in the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The author also describes personalities under influence of who’s ideas the wahhabi movement was created.
