Džeina Ostina un pārspīlēts jūtīgums 18.gadsimta literatūrā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs " DŽEINA OSTINA UN PĀRSPĪLĒTS JŪTĪGUMS 18. GADSIMTA LITERATŪRĀ" pēta 19. gadsimta izcilās angļu rakstnieces Džeinas Ostinas satīrisko attieksmi pret pārspīlēta jūtīguma tendenci, kas dominēja 18. gadsmita daiļliteratūrā. Darba mērķis ir izskaidrot rakstnieces ironiskā humora izcelsmi un salīdzināt viņas rakstības stilu un manieri ar sentimentālo novelistu vispārpieņemtajām rakstības vadlīnijām. Darba gaitā veikta teorētiskā materiāla pētīšana un analīze veicot pētījumu par Dž. Ostinas ironijas un parodijas mērķiem, kā piemērus izmantojot rakstnieces jaunības gadu darbus (Juvenilia Works) un romānu „Prāts un jūtas”, kā arī salīdzīnot dažādu kritiķu uzskatus par rakstnieces ieguldījumu 18. un 19. gadsmitu mijas literatūrā. Konstatēts, ka ģimenes un literāro tradīciju ietekmē, Dž. Ostina izvēlējas satīru kā vislabāko sentimentālās daiļliteratūras kritikas veidu, izmantojot pārspīlēšanu, imitāciju un kontrastu, lai atklātu šī rakstības stila absurdu, nenoliedzot emociju un jūtu lomu un nozīmi reālajā dzīvē.

The present Bachelor Paper “JANE AUSTEN AND EXCESSIVE SENSIBILITY IN THE LITERATURE OF THE 18TH CENTURY” is carried out to explore the satirical attitude of the great English novelist of the 19th century Jane Austen towards the tendency of excessive sensibility in the fiction of the 18th century. The purpose of the Paper is to find out the origin of the writer’s ironical humor and to contrast the way she wrote to the conventions of the sentimental novelists. In order to reach the goal of the Paper the study and the analysis of the theoretical material has been carried out, investigating the aim of J. Austen’s burlesque, irony and parody in “Juvenilia” and “Sense and Sensibility”, and comparing the different critical views about her contribution to the literature at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The research has revealed that mostly under the influence of the family ideology and already established traditions J. Austen has chosen satire to attack the sentimental conventions, without creating a new literary form, and has employed the imitation, exaggeration and contrast in order to disclose the absurdity and nonsense of these conventions, not denying the importance of feelings in the real life.
