Zobārstniecības terminoloģijas lingvistiskie aspekti

Abstract

Termini ir zinātniska diskursa mugurkauls. Terminoloģijai jāatbilst daudziem principiem, ko izstrādājuši valodnieki, bet to pielietošana praksē uzstāda savas prasības un nereti no dažiem principiem nākas atteikties. Tādējādi var runāt par dažādiem valodniecības aspektiem, kas atrodami terminoloģijā. Ja novirze no noteiktajiem terminoloģijas izstrādes principiem kļūst pārāk liela, tas traucē saziņas procesam. Lai varētu runāt par pilnvērtīgu saziņu starp zobārstniecības speciālistiem un starp speciālistiem un pacientiem, nepieciešama sistemātiska terminu sistēma. Dotā pētījuma mērķis bija noteikt lielākās zobārstniecības terminoloģijas problēmas, kas redzamas ar zobārstniecību saistītos tekstos un kuras ievērojuši arī zobārstniecības speciālisti. Tika izmantotas teorētiskas un empīriskas pētījuma metodes. Tika analizēta literatūra par terminu definēšanu un izstrādi, gan arī par galvenajām lingvistiskajām problēmām, kas kopā deva teorētisko pamatu empīriskajam pētījumam. Apskatītajiem lingvistiskajiem aspektiem darba praktiskajā daļā tika sniegti piemēri. Tika atklāts, ka profesionālā zobārstniecības valoda ir iecietīga pret svešvalodu elementiem un pašlaik jau sāk līdzināties atsevišķam valodas paveidam ar lingvistiskajiem elementiem gan no latviešu, gan angļu valodas. Tātad, tika secināts, ka nepieciešams veikt tālākus, plašākus pētījumus, kam dotu praktisku labumu un būtu pielietojami zobārstniecības terminoloģijas izstrādē. Terms are the backbone of scientific discourse. Terminology is supposed to adhere to many requirements drawn up by linguists, but the real-life praxis sets its own demands and concessions need to be made. Consequently, it is possible to speak of various linguistic aspects that can be found in terminology. At some point the process of communication becomes obstructed by too much deviation from the requirements of term development. In order to have a meaningful communication among dentistry specialists and among specialists and patients a systematic terminology system is needed. The present research has been conducted with the purpose of identifying the major dentistry terminology issues that have been observed in literature pertaining to the field of dentistry and that have been recognized by the dentistry specialists themselves. Both theoretical and empirical research methods were employed. Studies of relevant literature about term definition and development as well as main linguistic issues were undertaken in order to provide theoretical basis for the empirical research. The main linguistic aspects discussed were illustrated with examples in the practical part of the paper. It was discovered that professional dentistry lexis is very tolerant to foreign language elements and currently starts to resemble even a separate sublanguage with linguistic elements both form the Latvian language and English. Thus, it was concluded that further, more extensive research should be carried out which would have practical application and benefit in dentistry terminology development.
