Kontekstatkarīgo terminu izmantojums Eiropas Savienības tekstos

Abstract

Šī darba tēma ir "Kontekstatkarīgo terminu izmantojums Eiropas Savienības tekstos". Šā pētījuma mērķis ir, pirmkārt, definēt terminu, tā kontekstatkarību un izvēli tulkošanas laikā, un, otrkārt, aplūkot termina un konteksta attiecības konkrētu Eiropas Savienības dokumentu tulkošanas procesā, kā arī šādu gadījumu risināšanas iespējas. Darba izveidē izmantota aprakstošā metode, kā arī teorētiskā un praktiskā pieeja. Šā darba izstrādes laikā autore secināja, ka termini ne vienmēr atbilst to "ideālajai" definīcijai, jo īpaši attiecībā uz kontekstatkarības aspektu. Lai atklātu termina nozīmi un iztulkotu to pareizi, bieži vien ir nepieciešams konteksts, turklāt šādi gadījumi īpaši bieži novērojami ES tekstos, kuriem piemīt vispārīgs raksturs.

The topic of this work is "The usage of context-bound terminology in European Union texts". The aim of this study is, firstly, to define the term, its context-dependency and the choice of terms during translation process and, secondly, to review the relation between terminology and context when translating particular documents of the European Union, as well as the solutions for such cases. The work is based on the descriptive method, applying theoretical and practical approach. During this study the author concluded that terms do not always comply with the definition of a "perfect" term, especially regarding the aspect of context-independency. The context is often required to discover the meaning of a term and translate it properly, besides, such situations particularly appear in EU texts, which tend to be very general.
