Leksikas apgūšana svešvalodā ar video/multimediju palīdzību

Abstract

Literatūra par leksikas apgūšanu svešvalodā izšķir netiešu un tiešu mācīšanās veidu. Netieša vārdu apgūšana atšķiras no tiešas vārdu apgūšanas apziņas līmenī. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt šī leksikas apgūšanas veida efektivitāti ar klausīšanās palīdzību. Teorētiskie pētījumi tika veikts ar nodomu iepazīt šo līdz šim mazāk apskatīto klausīšanās prasmes daļu un sekmīgi izmēģināt ierosināto leksikas apgūšanas veidu ar video fragmentu un īpaši sagatavotajiem uzdevumiem praksē. Iegūtie rezultāti ļauj secināt, ka, lai gan netieša leksikas apgūšana vērojot un klausoties video fragmentu ir efektīvs veids kā atcerēties vārdus svešvalodā, šīs metodes panākumi ir galvenokārt atkarīgi no pašu dalībnieku intereses un līdzdalības.

The theoretical literature on vocabulary acquisition distinguishes between incidental and intentional way of learning. Intentional differs from incidental vocabulary acquisition in the degree of awareness of purposeful learning of words. The aim of this paper is to investigate the effectiveness of incidental vocabulary acquisition through listening. The theory on the topic was researched with the purpose to gain more knowledge on this lesser-investigated part of the listening skill and to pilot a successful treatment with a video sequence and specially designed activities. The results gained from the empirical part allowed assuming that although incidental vocabulary acquisition through listening via multimedia/video is an effective way of memorizing new words, the success of it mostly depends on the involvement and interest of participants.
