Labirinta atspoguļojums Ursulas le Gvinas romānā „Atuanas kapenes” un Umberto Eko romānā „Rozes vārds”

Abstract

Šajā darbā pētīts labirinta atspoguļojums divos romānos: Ursulas le Gvinas fantastikas romānā “Atuanas kapenes” un Umberto Eko darbā “Rozes vārds”. Apskatīta arī labirinta simbola izcelsme un nozīme, kā arī tā atspoguļojums mitoloģijā un pasaules literatūrā, mākslā un reliģijā gadsimtu gaitā. Darbā īpaša uzmanība pievērsta labirinta interpretācijai romānos “Atuanas kapenes” un “Rozes vārds”, analizēta tā atšķirīgā simboliskā nozīme un loma šajos romānos. Labirinta tēls pētīts galvenokārt saistībā ar romānu galvenajiem varoņiem- kā cilvēka psihes atspoguļojums romānā “Atuanas kapenes” un kā zīmju sistēma apvienojumā ar bibliotēku romānā “Rozes vārds”. Lai gan labirinti, kas atspoguļoti šajos darbos, ir ļoti atšķirīgi, tos analizējot un salīdzinot, atklātas dažādas paralēles starp šo labirintu aprakstiem, īpašībām un radīto ietekmi uz romānu galvenajiem varoņiem.

The paper deals with the reflection of the image of the labyrinth in two novels – Ursula le Guin’s “The Tombs of Atuan” and Umberto Eco’s “The Name of the Rose”. The paper also explores the origin, overall symbolic meaning of the labyrinth as well as the reflection of the labyrinth symbol in world literature, art and religion. The paper focuses on the interpretation of the labyrinth image in “The Tombs of Atuan” and “The Name of the Rose”, analysing the symbolic meaning of the labyrinth and its functions in the two novels. The reflection of the labyrinth has been revealed largely in relation to the characters of the novels. The paper also deals with deeper analysis of “The Tombs of Atuan” labyrinth as a reflection of human psyche and “The Name of the Rose” labyrinth as a system of signs. Although the images of the labyrinth in both novels, analyzed in this paper are very different, certain parallels between their characteristics, created effects and description in relation to the characters of the novels have been established.
