Šajā darbā hronoloģiski aplūkota Turcijas politisko spēku attīstība no Republikas dibināšanas 1923. gadā līdz mūsdienām kontekstā ar valsts modernizācijas ideoloģiju. Akcentēta reliģijas un sekulārisma mijiedarbība. Darba galvenais mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai pašlaik pie varas esošajai konservatīvi demokrātiskajai Taisnīguma un attīstības partijai (AKP) izteiktie pārmetumi par slēptu valsts islamizācijas plānu ir pamatoti. Aplūkota sociālekonomiskā situācija un sekas, kādas radīja jaunu politisko strāvojumu parādīšanās Turcijā 20.gs. otrajā pusē. Raksturota armijas nozīmīgā loma valsts politikā. Apskatīta valsts apvērsumu attīstība Turcijas vēsturē. Raksturota etnisko un reliģisko minoritāšu situācija islāmiskās Taisnīguma un attīstības partijas varas laikā kopš 2002. gada. This paper deals with chronological development of political forces of Turkey from the time of the establishment of the Republic untill today in connection with the ideology of modernization. The stress is laid on the correlation of religion and secularism. The main purpose is to find out whether reproaches to the ruling conservative democratic Justice and Development Party (AKP) of a hidden islamization agenda are valid. The study outlines the socioeconomical situation as well as consequences of the emergence of new political trends in Turkey in the second half of the 20th century. The study describes the important role of the army in the politics of the state. It deals with the development of coups in the history of Turkey. The research reveals position of ethnic and religious minorities during the reign of the islamic Justice and Development party since 2002.
