Ebreju atainojums angļu renesanses laika literatūrā (Kristofera Mārlova lugā „Maltas ebrejs” un Viljama Šekspīra lugā „Venēcijas tirgotājs”)

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā „Ebreju atainojums angļu Renesanses laika literatūrā” tiek aplūkota problēma, kas vienmēr ir izraisījusi zināmu interesi starp dažādu paaudžu cilvēkiem. Ebreju temats vienmēr tika uzskatīts par vienu no visproblemātiskākajiem un strīdīgākajiem tematiem, kas izraisīja daudz viedokļu un pētījumu. Pirmā nodaļa iepazīstina ar angļu Renesanses laika literatūras teorētisko materiālu, sniedz pamatzināšanas par to, kas ir angļu Renesanses drāma, ka arī iepazīstina lasītājus ar lugām, kas būs raksturotas un izanalizētas darbā turpmāk. Otrā nodaļa dod pamatinformāciju par vēsturiskajiem faktiem par ebrejiem. Darba autore aplūko ebrejus no divām dažādām diametrāli pretējām perspektīvām: no vēsturiskā viedokļa, autore sniedz pārskatu par vēsturiskiem faktiem, kā arī no literatūras viedokļa, kur autore balstās uz divu darbu pētījumiem-K .Marlova „”Maltas ebrejs” un V. Šekspīra „Venēcijas tirgotājs” lugām. Trešā nodaļā autore koncentrējas uz ebreju tēlu salīdzinošo analīzi abās lugās. Pirmās un otras nodaļas teorētiskais materiāls tiek ņemts par pamatu salīdzinošai analīzei pēdējā, trešajā darba nodaļā.

The BA Paper “Representation of Jewishness in English Renaissance Literature” deals with the problem that has always caused a notable interest among people of many generations. The theme of Jewishness has always been considered as a one of the most disputable and problematic ones, that raised several opinions and observations. The first chapter introduces the theoretical material of the English Renaissance Literature, gives the basic knowledge on what the English Renaissance drama is, as well as introduces the readers into the plays which will be characterized and analyzed in the work further on. The second chapter gives the basic information, historical facts on the Jews. The author of the paper overviews the Jews from two diametrically opposite perspectives: from historical point of view, the author introduces pure historical facts, as well as from literary point of view, when the author bases the research on two literary works- the play by C. Marlow “The Jew of Malta” and W. Shakespeare “The Merchant of Venice”. So, in the third chapter the author concentrates on the comparative analysis of the Jewishness in both plays. The theoretical material of the first and the second chapter is taken as the basis for the whole analysis given in the last chapter.
