Ekonomikas biļetenu tulkošana no latviešu valodas angļu valodā

Abstract

Šī diplomdarba tēma ir ekonomikas biļetenu tulkošana no latviešu uz angļu valodu. Tematiski darbu var sadalīt divās daļās. Darba pirmajā daļā autore pēta teorētisko materiālu attiecībā uz tulkošanu kā komunikācijas līdzekli, ekonomikas tekstu tulkošanas metodes un tulkošanas procesu, kā arī izvirza ekonomikas tekstu tulkošanas pamatprincipus. Šā darba otrajā daļā autore aplūko galvenās ekonomikas tekstu īpatnības un problēmas, ko ilustrē Latvijas ekonomikas biļetena tulkojumi. Analizējot minēto tekstu tulkojumus, darba autore ir pierādījusi, ka tulkotājam ne vienmēr ir atļauts pārfrāzēt un ieviest izmaiņas ekonomikas tekstos, kamēr tas neietekmē oriģinālā teksta ziņojumu.

The theme of the present diploma paper is translation of economic bulletins from Latvian into English. Thematically the paper can be divided into two parts. The first part of the paper reviews relevant theoretical material on language and translation as means of communication and translation strategies and translation process, as well as singles out the core principles of economic texts' translation. The second part of the paper explores the main peculiarities and difficulties of economic texts' translation, which is illustrated by the translations of Latvian Economic Bulletins. The analysis of these translations has proven that the translator is not always allowed to reformulate and introduce changes to economic texts as long as it does not affect the message of the original text.
