Kailcirtēs atstāto ekoloģisko koku piemērotība melnās dzilnas Dryocopus martius ligzdošanai

Abstract

Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot izcirtumos atstāto ekoloģisko koku piemērotību melnās dzilnas ligzdošanai un novērtēt melnās dzilnas ligzdošanas biežumu izcirtumos. Lai sasniegtu izvirzīto mērķi, tika apsekoti 46 izcirtumi 14 pēc nejaušības principa izvēlētos parauglaukumos AS „Latvijas valsts meži” mežos ārpus aizsargājamām teritorijām. Tika noskaidroti tie ekoloģisko koku parametri, kas ir būtiski melnajai dzilnai. Vairums ekoloģisko koku ir piemēroti melnās dzilnas ligzdošanai. Biežākais iemesls ekoloģisko koku nepiemērotībai melnās dzilnas ligzdošanai ir to nepietiekams diametrs. Melnās dzilnas dobuma esamību konkrētā ekoloģiskajā kokā būtiski ietekmē koka stāvoklis (dzīvs vai kaltis) un diametrs, taču koka sugai nav būtiskas nozīmes. Aim of the paper is to clarify suitability of the retention trees left in clear cuttings for nesting of Black Woodpecker and assess nesting frequency of the Black Woodpecker in clear cuttings. In order to achieve the set aim, 46 clear cuttings were surveyed in 14 sampling plots in forests of “Latvian State Forests” JSC. Parameters of retention trees essential in relation to Black Woodpecker were clarified. Majority of retention trees are suitable for nesting of Black Woodpecker. The most frequent reason for non-suitability of retention trees is their insufficient diameter. Presence of nest hole of Black Woodpecker in a specific retention tree depends on the condition (live or dried) and diameter of the tree, but the species of the tree is insignificant.
