Mutiskās tulkošanas profesionālā ētika

Abstract

Šī diplomdarba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kādas ētikas prasības tulkiem būtu jāievēro pēc teorētiķu domām un kā šīs un citas prasības tiek atspoguļotas faktiskajos noteikumos, pēc kuriem tulki vadās savā ikdienas darbā. Darbā izmantotas tādas metodes kā tēmas teorētiskā analīze, kuras pamatā ir vairāku mutiskās tulkošanas ekspertu pētījumi tulku ētikas jomā, un praktisks tēmas pārskats, kas veidots, salīdzinot dažādu šīs nozares profesionālo organizāciju izstrādātu ētikas kodeksu prasības. Pētījuma gaitā secināts, ka mutiskās tulkošanas ētiskajiem aspektiem patiešām ir ievērojama nozīme tulka pienākumu veikšanā un ētikas kodeksos iekļautie principi paredz, kāda tulka rīcība būtu vēlama un kāda – nevēlama, tādējādi pasargājot gan saziņā iesaistītās puses, gan arī pašu tulku. The purpose of this paper is to determine what ethical requirements interpreters should comply with according to theoreticians and how these requirements are represented in the actual rules that interpreters base on in their everyday work. The research methods include a theoretical analysis of the topic and an applied overview of the subject based on the comparison of codes of ethics issued by several professional organizations. In the course of the research the author found that ethical aspects of the interpreting profession are of paramount importance in exercising the duties of the interpreter and codes of interpreting ethics stipulate the “do’s and don’ts” of the profession, thus protecting the parties of the interpreting situation and the interpreter him- or herself.
