LU terminoloģijas datu bāzes izveidošana

Abstract

Diplomdarbs tika uzrakstīts pēc tulkošanas praksē iegūtās pieredzes Latvijas Universitātē (LU), kurā autoram radās problēmas ar vienotas terminoloģijas trūkumu, tulkojot tekstus, kas saistīti ar LU. Projektā darbojas vairāki tulkotāji vienlaicīgi un viņiem nav iespējas ātri atrast citu tulkotāju izmantoto terminoloģiju, kā arī lietot konsekventu terminoloģiju turpmākajos tulkojumos. LU terminoloģijas datu bāzes izveidošana ir aktuāla, jo līdz šim tāda nav pastāvējusi un studentiem tulkotājiem nav bijusi iespēja izmantot vienotu terminoloģiju un veikt tulkojumus ātrāk. Diplomdarba autors izpētīja literatūru par tulkošanu no dzimtās valodas svešvalodā, tulkotājiem nepieciešamo terminoloģijas apkopošanu un datu bāzes izveidi. Ar programmētāja palīdzību tika izveidota datu bāze “E-Tulks” un trīs semestros tulkoto tekstu terminoloģija ievadīta programmā. To ir iespējams instalēt uz servera un ar pieejas kodu palīdzību to var izmantot jebkurš tulkotājs, kas strādā projektā vai tulko ar LU saistītus tekstus. Programmas lietošana sniedz iespēju izmantot vienotu terminoloģiju un arī ietaupīt tulkošanai paredzēto laiku. Programmā ir iespējams pievienot jaunus terminus, tādējādi papildinot to un padarot vēl noderīgāku tulkotājiem arī turpmāk. Diplomdarbā ir trīs nodaļas, deviņi attēli un trīs pielikumi.

The Diploma Paper was written after translation practices at the University of Latvia (UL) in three terms time and the author of the Diploma Paper noticed the lack of common UL terminology while translating texts related to UL. Usually there are several translators doing the translations in the project and no united terminology data base is used in order to have consistent terminology in the further translations. This was the topical reason for creating a united terminology data base with UL related terminology. The Author of the Diploma Paper explored the literature on translating into second language, terminology for translators and explored how a data base can be created. A programme called E-Tulks was created with the help of programmers and the terminology used in the texts during all three terms was put into the programme. It can be installed on the server and every translator working on the project and having the access codes may use it that gives the opportunity to use consistent terminology for UL related texts and also save the translators’ time. It is possible to add new terminology to the programme by making it more and more useful and updated. The Diploma Paper consists of three chapters, nine figures and three appendices.
