Mīts kā diplomātijas elements sera Vinstona Čērčila darbā – „Otrais pasaules karš”

Abstract

Pamattēma: mīta klātbūtne Sera Vinstona Čērčila aprakstītajās politiskajās stratēģijās grāmatā ‘Otrais Pasaules Karš’; mīts, kā diplomātijas elements.

Mērķis: mīts kā senākā vērtību sistēma un galvenā ‘cilvēka apziņas’ sastāvdaļa; tā vieta kolektīvās apziņas un kolektīvo atmiņu veidošanas procesā;

Metodes: diskursa analīze.

Rezultāti: mīts var kalpot kā instruments poltiskajā stratēģijā, veidjot agresora tēlu vai attaisnojot rīcību atbilstoši alegorijai ‘labais pret ļauno’.

Background: the presence of myth in international affairs described by Sir Winston S. Churchill in his book ‘The Second world War’; myth as an element of diplomacy.

Purpose: myth as the most ancient set of values and the primary outcome of the so-called ‘human condition’; its place in the formation of the collective unconscious and collective memories.

Methods: discourse analysis, particularly, the meta-level.

Results: myth might be present in international affairs with a purpose to create an image of aggressor or justify a particular diplomatic policy if it is effectuated in a form of the allegory the good vs. evil.
