Bakalaura darbs „Viduslaiku mūzika Ķīnā un Eiropā” ir veltīts viduslaiku mūzikas analīzei, ar mērķi noskaidrot, kādas bijušas atšķirības un līdzības starp Eiropas un Ķīnas viduslaiku mūziku, kā arī lai izpētītu mūzikas vēsturisko attīstību.
Darbs ir veidots trīs daļās. Pirmā daļa ir veltīta Ķīnas viduslaiku mūzikai Taņ un Suņ dinastijas laikā, kur tiek apskatīta šo dinastiju mūzikas vēsturiskā attīstība un nozīmīgie žanri. Tur pat arī ir aprakstīta Čeņan pilsēta kā toreizējais kultūras attīstības centrs. Pirmā daļā tiks noskaidrota arī sieviešu loma Ķīnas mūzikā.
Otrajā daļā tiek aplūkota Eiropas viduslaiku mūzika, vairāk pievēršot uzmanību Gregora lielā baznīcas mūzikai un nošu reformai.
Pēdējā daļa ir veltīta viduslaiku mūzikas instrumentiem Ķīnā un Eiropā, tiek vilktas paralēles starp instrumentiem. Ir divas nodaļas kur tiek runāts par un tiek salīdzināti pūtēju instrumenti, sitaminstrumenti un stīgu strinkšķināmie un lociņ instrumenti. The Bachelor paper "The medieval music in China and Europe" is devoted to medieval music analysis, in order to ascertain what were the differences and similarities between Chinese and European medieval music as well as to explore the historical development of music.
The work is divided into three parts. The first part is devoted to the music of medieval China in Tang and Song Dynasty period, which examines the historical development of musical dynasties and significant genres. In addition, Chang’an city is described as a cultural development center at that time. Also, in the first part it is being analysed how importan were women in Chinese medieval music.
The second part deals with the European medieval music, focusing more to Gregory the Great Church music and musical notation reform.
The last part is devoted to medieval musical intruments in China and Europe, there are set parallels between the instruments. It is dividend in two parts where wing instruments, percussion instruments and string plucked and bow instruments are being compared.
