Sievietes loma Svētā Grāla meklējumos britu un franču literatūras avotos

Abstract

Šīs darbs aplūko jautājumu par sieviešu klātbūtni un piedalīšanos Grāla meklējumos. Pētījums aplūko divu atšķirīgo kontekstu stāstījumus: leģendas, kuru pamatā ir ķeltu pirms-kristietības mitoloģija, kuras tiek bieži uzskatītas par Grāla leģendas priekštečiem un viduslaiku angļu un franču bruņinieku romānus, kuri satur to, ko var nosaukt par Grāla meklējumu klasisko versiju. Pētījuma mērķis ir noteikt sievietes vietu sabiedrībā, kur, tika sacerētās attiecīgas leģendas un kā tajās tika atspoguļotas dzimuma aizspriedumi. Pētnieciskas metodes apvieno rūpīgu teoriju par Grāla leģendu un literāro avotu izpēti. Tiek secināts, ka, leģendā, sieviešu tēli, kas tiek bieži asociēti ar Grālu, attēlo arhetipisko indoeiropiešu Lielo Māti.

The paper looks into the issue of presence and participation of women in the Grail quest. The study considers the narratives from two distinct contexts: the legends descending from Celtic pre-Christian mythology, which are often considered to be the precursors of the Grail legend, and the mediaeval French and English romances, which contain what can be called the classical version of the Grail quest. The purpose of the research is to determine the position of woman in the society where the respective legends were composed and to see how gender discourse was reflected in them. The study methods combine the examination of critical theories about the Grail legend and of literary texts. It is concluded that, in the legend, women characters, who are often associated with the Grail, represent the archetypal Great Goddess of the Indo-Europeans.
