Tiešsaistes simulāciju loma studentu angļu valodas variativitātes pilnveidošanā

Abstract

Pastāv tendence, ka liela angļu valodas kā svešvalodas lietotāju daļa runā angliski ar citu nāciju pārstāvjiem, visai reti izmantojot to saziņā ar angļu valodas kā dzimtās valodas lietotājiem. Tādēļ ir būtiski analizēt šīs valodas lietojumu plaši izplatītājā saziņā pa internetu. Šī pētījuma mērķis bija pētīt lingvistiskās atšķirības, ko ieviesuši angļu kā svešvalodu lietojoši studenti no Eiropas formālā reģistra lietojumā formālajās elektroniskajās vēstulēs un tiešsaistes konferencēs. Latvijas, Vācijas un Spānijas studenti veica vēstuļu apmaiņu un piedalījās tiešsaistes konferencē SOCRATES projekta IDEELS ietvaros organizētā valodas apguves simulācijā Data Access and Protection. Pētījums tika veikts, kā teorētisko metodi izmantojot teorētisko materiālu izpēti un kā praktisko metodi pielietojot situācijas analīzi ar apakšmetodēm diskursa analīze un anketas rezultātu analīze. Pētījuma rezultāti norāda, ka angļu valodas kā svešvalodas lietotāji savu valodas lietojumu pielāgo formālā reģistra īpatnībām. Šie secinājumi ļauj izteikt apgalvojumu, ka angļu valodas kā svešvalodas lietotāju valodas izmantojums līdzinās tam izmantojumam, kas raksturīgs angļu kā dzimtās valodas lietotājiem.

Due to the increasing tendency that a large number of non-native English speakers use this language in international communication, relatively rarely interacting with native English speakers, it is essential to explore the use of the language in such popular communicative discourse as the Internet. The purpose of this research was to investigate the linguistic differences European non-native English speaking students have introduced in formal register usage in formal electronic letters and online conference. Students from Latvia, Germany and Spain carried out the letter exchange and participated in the online conference within the framework of a language-learning simulation Data Access and Protection of the SOCRATES project IDEELS. The study was conducted by applying the theoretical research method analysis of research materials and the practical research method case study with the techniques discourse analysis and questionnaire. The results indicated that European non-native English speakers vary their language use according to the peculiarities of formal register. The findings suggest that the language use of European non-native English speakers resembles the English language use of native speakers.
