Pirmā līmeņa profesionālās augstākās izglītības studentu nozares terminoloģijas paplašināšanā izmantojamās stratēģijas

Abstract

Maģistra darbā tiek apskatītas pirmā līmeņa profesionālās augstākās izglītības studentu nozares terminoloģijas paplašināšanā izmantojamās stratēģijas. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, kādas stratēģijas būtu jāizmanto nozares terminoloģijas paplašināšanā, strādājot ar pirmā līmeņa profesionālās augstākās izglītības studentiem, lai viņi gūtu panākumus profesionālajā komunikācijā. Augstākminētajā pētījumā tika izmantotas dažādas metodes – gan izvēlētās literatūras izpēte un analīze, gan aptauja, izmantojot anketu, gan attiecīgās studentu grupas novērošana un gadījuma izpēte. Balstoties uz šī pētījuma rezultātiem, var secināt, ka pirmā līmeņa profesionālās augstākās izglītības studentu nozares terminoloģijas paplašināšana tiek veicināta, izmantojot gan pasniedzēja vadītas, gan studentu vadītas stratēģijas, iekļaujot nozarei atbilstošus studiju materiālus ar pieaugošu sarežģītības pakāpi. Pēc nozares angļu valodas kursa pabeigšanas studenti spēj izmantot un praktiski pielietot jaunapgūto nozares terminoloģiju profesionālajā kontekstā. In this Master Thesis there are discussed strategies applied in the sector-specific vocabulary enrichment of students at the first level of higher vocational education. The purpose of the research is to find out what strategies should be applied in the enrichment of sector-specific vocabulary to the students at the first level of higher vocational education to make them successful in professional communication. For the purpose of this study, a variety of methods including a study and a descriptive analysis of the selected theoretical literature, a survey by using a questionnaire, an observation of a particular group of students and a case study were used. Based on the results of this research, we can conclude that sector-specific vocabulary enrichment of the adult learners who study at the first level of higher vocational education is facilitated by employing the alternation of teacher-led and student-led strategies, involving the use of sector-relevant study materials with a gradually increasing degree of complexity. The adults were found to be able to utilise the newly learned sector-specific vocabulary in their professional context after taking the English for Specific Purposes course.
