Vēstures izpratne 19.gs. reālistiskajā romānā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs “Vēstures izpratne 19. gadsimta reālistiskajā romānā” pēta vēstures būtību 19.gadsimta reālisma virziena autoru daiļdarbos. Bakalaura darbā tiek analizēti Čārlza Dikensa romāns “Stāsts par divām pilsētām”, Viljama Meikepīsa Tekerija romāns “Liekulības tirgus” un Džordža Eliota romāns “Midlmārča”, kas apraksta svarīgus vērstures notikumus un to nozīmi cilvēku dzīvē, kā arī to, kā notiek savstarpējā vēstures un indivīda mijiedarbība. Darbā tiek apskatīta vēstures būtība dažādu autoru, literātu, vēsturnieku un pētnieku skatījumā kā arī analizēts vēsturiskā romāna žanrs kā viens no vadošajiem 19.gadsimta reālisma literatūrā. Darba pamatdoma ir analizēt vēsturi kā mācības par pagātni un zināšanu avotu, kas, laikam ejot, un, mainoties politiskajiem uzskatiem, ekonomiskajām attiecībām, starpkultūru sakariem, mainās līdzi.

The Bachelor Paper “The Notion of History in the 19th Century Realistic Novel” analyses the way history was presented and viewed by the authors of the Victorian era. The paper analyses the novels by Charles Dickens “A Tale of Two Cities”, William Makepeace Thackeray’s “Vanity Fair” and George Eliot’s “Middlemarch.” The works describe the brightest and important historical events in the history of Europe and Britain through the eyes of the British and their importance and influence on the lives of individuals and interaction between them. The paper is based on the ideas of literates, scholars and historians. It performs analysis of the genre of the historical novel as one of the leading in the literature of the 19th century realism. The leading idea of the paper is to analyse history as a study on the past and the source of knowledge that changes or alternates due to political changes, economical relations, cross-cultural communication, etc.
