Sacensība E. Morgensternas darbā „Nakts Cirks”: stilistiskie aspekti

Abstract

Darbā pētīti sacensības stilistiskie aspekti E. Morgensternas romānā „Nakts Cirks”. Tēmas izvēli noteica autores interese par mākslinieciskās izteiksmes līdzekļiem. Pētījuma metode ir aprakstošā analīze, kas iekļauj datu apkopošanu un analīzi pēc iepriekš definētiem parametriem. Rezultāti liecina, ka attiecībā uz sacensību pārsvarā tika lietotas metaforas; tādi mākslinieciskās izteiksmes līdzekļi kā epiteti, salīdzinājumi un personifikācijas tika pārsvarā lietotas notikuma vietas raksturojumā otrās un trešās personas teicēja tekstā, turpretim humors, ironija un sarkasms tika lietoti dialogos un radīja komisku efektu Sīlijas un Marko attiecībās, kā arī atklāja Hektora noniecinošo attieksmi attiecībā uz Sīliju. Noskaņa romānā attiecībā uz sacensību nemainījās, jo pārsvarā tika lietoti vieni un tie paši mākslinieciskās izteiksmes līdzekļi. The present paper investigates stylistic aspects of contest in the novel “The Night Circus” written by Erin Morgenstern. The topicality of the research is determined by the author’s interest in stylistic analysis. The main method of the research is descriptive analysis. The results indicate that the most commonly used stylistic device was metaphor; epithets, similes and personifications were used mostly in descriptions of the venue both in the second person’s heterodiegetic narrative and the third person’s homodiegetic narrative, unlike to humour, irony and sarcasm which were included in dialogues and added a comic effect to the relationship between Celia and Marco, and revealed Hector’s attitude to Celia. The mood of novel did not change because each type and kind of stylistic device was used repeatedly. Keywords: contest, stylistic aspects, lexical stylistic devices, mood, roles and function
