| dc.description.abstract | Rakstisko ziņu mediji ir publisks forums, kur žurnālisti izsaka, iespējams, sarežģītu informāciju par valdību, reformām, ekonomiku, finansēm un citām lietām, izmantojot konceptuālās metaforas, lai lasītājiem būtu vieglāk saprast šo informāciju. Viens no 2013. gada lielākajiem notikumiem bija Amerikas Savienoto Valstu federālās valdības iestāžu darbības apstāšanās, ko izraisīja ASV Veselības Aprūpes Sistēmas reformas (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act). Protams, šāds svarīgs notikums izraisīja bumu masu mēdijos. Tas ietekmēja autoru veikt pētījumu, lai atklātu kā ASV Veselības Aprūpes Sistēmas reformas (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) varētu tikt raksturots ar sporta, veselības un kara metaforām 20 rakstos no Cable News Network mājaslapas, kuri tika publicēti 2013. gada oktobrī, kad notika Amerikas Savienoto Valstu federālās valdības iestāžu darbības apstāšanās. Pēc identificēto metafora kvalitatīvā pētījuma veikšanas, var teikt, ka ASV Veselības Aprūpes Sistēmas reformas (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) tiek atainots kā karš, veselība un sporta spēle. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Written news media is a public forum where journalists express possibly complex information about governments, reforms, economics, finances, and other subjects, often using conceptual metaphors for readers to easily understand. One of the biggest events of 2013 was the United States government shutdown, caused by a disagreement concerning the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). Naturally, such an important event created an explosion in mass media. This influenced the author to do a research to see how Obamacare can be described with the metaphors of sports, health and war in 20 articles from Cable News Network website, which were published in October, 2013, when the government shutdown occurred. After performing qualitative research on the identified metaphors, it is possible to say that Obamacare can be viewed as war, health, and a game of sports. | en_US |
