The objective of the present investigation is to analyze the sensorial perceptions in the novel and discover how they define the world of the protagonist. The empirical part consists of a wide catalogue of the citations from novel, in which the further analysis and interpretation is based, using some elements of hermeneutic circle: the comprehension of the whole depends of the parts and vice versa.
The main conclusion is that the major part of sensorial perceptions that can be find in the novel correspond to a quite basic categories, like white-black, cold-hot, silence-noise, food and kitchen. That reflects the protagonist’s perception of the world through no sophisticated concepts. The protagonist’s world is based in the kitchen with all the sensorial perceptions that derivate from it and is related with it.
