Interkulturalitātes izpēte ar drāmas metodēm

Abstract

Diplomdarba mērķis ir izpētīt, kā drāmas uzdevumi, kas izveidoti atbilstoši mijkultūru mācīšanās kritērijiem, var tikt izmantoti, lai veicinātu studentu mijkultūru kompetenci angļu valodas mācīšanās un mācīšanas procesā. Pētījumā analizēta teorētiskā literatūra par mijkultūru kompetenci un drāmas metodēm, kā arī veikts atsevišķa gadījuma pētījums. Diplomdarbā analizēta mijkultūru mācīšanās un drāmas veidi, kā arī drāmas metožu loma un efektivitāte angļu valodas mācīšanas un mācīšanās procesā. Tiek parādīts, kā konkrētā skolā tiek izmantotas drāmas metodes studentu lingvistiskās prasmju un mijkultūru kompetences pilnveidē. Tiek atklāta skolotāju un skolēnu atteiksme pret drāmas metodēm. Diplomdarba autore secina, ka, ja angļu valodas stundās tiek izmantoti drāmas uzdevumi ir izstrādāti saskaņā ar mijkultūru izglītības principiem, tie veicina skolēnu mijkultūru kompetences pilnveidi.

The aim of the present research is to investigate the role of drama activities, designed according to the criteria of intercultural learning, for promoting students’ intercultural competence in English Language Learning and Teaching (ELT). The methods of the research and data collection are the analysis of theoretical literature on intercultural competence and drama activities, case study and analyses of the obtained data. The paper deals with the notion of interculurality, intercultural communication and intercultural learning. The importance of intercultural learning is stressed. The author examines different types of drama activities, the connection of drama and interculturality; the role and the effectiveness of drama activities in ELT. Developing linguistic skills and fostering students’ intercultural competence by means of drama activities is shown. The description and analysis of the case study is presented. It reveals teachers’ and students’ attitude towards drama activities; the effectiveness of drama activities in promoting intercultural competence in ELT. The author concluded that intercultural competence can be developed if drama activities, designed according to the criteria of intercultural learning, are used in English Language Teaching.
