Reģistrs mutvārdu tulkošanā

Abstract

Reģistrs ir svarīgs mutvārdu tulkošanas aspekts, kurš vēl joprojām ir pētīts nepietiekami. Tāpēc šī diplomdarba mērķis ir aprakstīt reģistru un tā lomu mutvārdu tulkošanā. Darba uzdevumi iekļauj: reģistru raksturojošās iezīmes, reģistru klasifikācijas principus, runas un to klasifikāciju, kā arī analizēt runas, meklējot neformālos elementus, kuri varētu sagādāt grūtības tulkam.

Izvirzītā mērķa sasniegšanai tika iztulkotas un transkribētas astoņas runas. Tajās atspoguļoti aktuāli notikumi Eiropā, ASV un citur pasaulē.

Dažādie runu temati, kā arī dažādie runātāji nodrošina, ka neatkarīgi no runas tēmas vai runātāja individuālajām īpašībām neformālie elementi raksturīgi arī formālajām runām un ka tie patiešām tulkam var radīt zināmas grūtības.

Formālo runu analīze parāda, ka pastāv neformālie leksiskie elementi, neformālie gramatiskie elementi un neformālie fonētiskie elementi, kas noteiktās situācijās tulkam var sagādāt nopietnu izaicinājumu.

Register is an important aspect of interpreting that often lacks thorough research. Therefore the goal of the present paper is to describe register and its role in interpreting. The objectives include: characteristic features of register, as well as principles of register classification, speeches and their classification, analysis of speeches in search of informal linguistic elements that may pose difficulty for the interpreter.

Eight speeches were interpreted and transcribed. They deal with various topical issues in Europe, in the USA and the rest of the world.

The different topics and the different speakers ensure that, regardless of the theme of a particular speech or individual features of the speaker, informal linguistic elements may be found in formal speeches, and that they indeed may be a challenge for the interpreter.

The analysis of formal speeches shows the occurrence of informal lexical elements, informal grammatical elements, and informal phonetic elements that present a certain degree of difficulty for the interpreter.
