Adaptētās literatūras lietojums angļu valodas zināšanu līmeņa paaugstināšanai

Abstract

Šī darba mērķis ir izpētīt un noteikt adaptētas literatūras pašreizējo statusu kā angļu valodas mācīšanas materiālu vidusskolā, un sniegt ieteikumus studentiem, kuri izmanto adaptēto literatūru savā mācīšanās procesā. Pirmajā daļā tiek izvērtēta lasīšana angļu valodas kā svešvalodas stundās. Pēc tam darbā tiek sniegta adaptētās literatūras teorētiskā daļa. Darba centrālajā daļā tiek detalizēti vērtēta analīze sešām adaptētām grāmatām dažādiem valodas prasmes līmeņiem, kas tiek salīdzinātas vārdu krājuma, gramatikas un sintakses aspektā. Darba praktiskā daļa iepazīstina ar divām aptaujām, kuras tika paredzētas vidusskolas skolēniem un skolotājiem, lai noskaidrotu viņu atteiksmi pret adaptētās literatūras izmantošanu. Secinājumos tika sniegta analīze par savāktajiem datiem, saskaņā ar kuriem hipotēze tika pierādīta. Šo darbu var piedāvāt visiem studentiem, kuri māca angļu valodu kā svešvalodu un tādējādi veicot nelielu ieguldījumu svešvālodu mācīšanas/mācīšanās procesā.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate and identify the present status of adapted literature as English language teaching/learning material in secondary school, and to make recommendations to students using graded readers in their learning process. In the first part, the place of reading in teaching English as a foreign language is presented. The thesis then provides the theoretical background of graded readers. In a detailed central section the thesis presents the analysis of six adapted readers of different language proficiency levels, which are compared from the aspect of vocabulary, grammar and syntax. The empirical part of the thesis also presents the questionnaire-based surveys which were designed for teachers and students of secondary school, in order to find out their attitudes to the usage of graded readers. In conclusions, an analysis of the collected data was provided, according to which the hypothesis was proven.
