Dabas ainavas astoņpadsmitā gadsimta angļu dzejā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs pēta dabas ainu attēlošanu angļu dzejā astoņpadsmitajā un agrīnā deviņpadsmitajā gadsimtā. Pētījuma mērķis ir parādīt daudzveidību un tendences dabas aprakstīšanā dzejā un noteikt iespējamās saiknes iepriekšējā un nākamajā gadsimtā. Pētījuma galvenie aspekti iekļauj septiņpadsmitā gadsimta ainavu attēlošanas apkopojumu, kam seko Augustīna laikmeta dzejas izpēte, un darbs noslēdzas ar Pirms-Romantisma kustības dzejas analīzi. Tāda veidā izpēte parāda pakāpeniskas izmaiņas dabas ainavu attēlošanā dzejā, no racionālas nostājas septiņpadsmitajā gadsimtā līdz sentimentālai - deviņpadsmitā gadsimta sākumā. Pētījuma gaitā tiek atklāta mijiedarbība starp dzeju un ainavu glezniecību. Šajā darbā apskatītie dzejnieki ir Aleksandrs Poups, Džeimss Tomsons un Džons Klērs, kuri reprezentē atšķirīgas pieejas pētījuma priekšmetam. Pētījumam autore lielākoties izmanto dzeju analīzes, literāro kustību un to īpašību pārskatus, kā arī dabas dzejas un glezniecības salīdzinājumus izmantojot Gaspāra Pusēna, Džona Konstebla ,Viljama Tērnera un Pītera Devinta mākslas darbus, kas kopumā veido pētījuma pamatprincipus.

The present BA paper investigates the treatment of landscape in the 18th and early 19th centuries’ English poetry. The author’s goals are to demonstrate the variety and tendency of nature description during that period of time and to estimate possible links with both prior and succeeding centuries. The key aspects of the research include an overview of landscape treatment in the 17th century, followed by the study of Augustan age poets, and concluded with Pre-Romantic movement poetry. Thus, the research gradually reveals the development of landscape treatment, from rational attitude in the 17th century to sentimental one at the beginning of 19th century. The study also facilitated in disclosing the relations between poetry and landscape painting. The major poets viewed in this work are Alexander Pope, James Thomson and John Clare, who represent different approach to the researched subject. The author employs analyses of poems, overviews on literary movements and their characteristics as well as comparison of nature poetry with the landscape painting in the works of Gaspar Poussin, John Constable, William Turner and Peter DeWint as the main means for revealing the topic.
