Šī bakalaura darba tēma ir „Baltā Lotosa sekta un tās politiskās aktivitātes”. Tēma izvēlēta turpmākai izpētei, jo Baltā Lotosa sektas ietekme Ķīnas vēsturē bijusi ievērojama. Lotosa sekta vairāku gadsimtu garumā piedalījās politikas veidošanā, rīkoja sacelšanās pret valsti, kas gan ietekmēja valsts ideoloģiju, gan sabiedrības viedokli un vispārējo situāciju valstī. Baltās Lotosa sektas pārveidošanās no reliģiskas biedrības par politiski aktīvu sektu ir tipiska parādība Ķīnas vēsturē, kas pamato valsts ideoloģijas nostādnes arī mūsdienās. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt Baltā Lotosa sektas izcelsmi un vēsturisko attīstību saistībā ar politiskajiem notikumiem Ķīnā. Šī mērķa sasniegšanai izvirzīti uzdevumi, kas ietver dažādu jautājumu pētījumus, t.sk. biedrības rašanos un attīstību 5. gadsimtā, tālāku transformāciju sektā, sektas reliģiskā satura izmaiņas, tai skaitā sektas izvirzīto ideoloģiju un tās pielūgtos dievus. Atsevišķi pētīta Lotosa sektas saistību ar politiskajiem notikumiem Ķīnā. Atsevišķi izdalīta biedrības aizsācēja Hueijuaņ biogrāfija un dzīves laika vēsturiskā vide. Atspoguļota arī Baltā Lotosa sektas mijiedarbību ar citiem reliģiskajiem virzieniem. Pētījumu veido 3 daļas. Kopā 40 lpp., 4 attēliem. Pirmajā darba daļā aplūkota Baltā Lotosa ticības rašanās pirmsākumi, un vēsturiskā attīstība. Otrajā daļā pētīta mijiedarbība ar citiem reliģiskajiem virzieniem, aizguvumi no tiem. Darba trešajā daļā raksturota sektas politiskā aktivitāte un nozīme dažādos laika periodos.

The title of the following research is „The White Lotus sect and its political activities”. This theme was selected to deeper research, because influence of the White Lotus sect in Chinese history was considerable. Lotus sect for several centuries took active part in anti-governmental political rebellions that left a severe impression both to the government ideology and on the social situation. The main objective of the work is to research The White Lotus sect origin and its historical development connection with political incidents in China. To fulfil the goal of the research, tasks including clarifying origin of The White Lotus society, its early history were researched. One of the goals was to find out origin of sect its reasons of transformation, because, originally it was not counted to sect but to society. Reasons that pushed The White Lotus society change into sect, changes in the religious contents of the sect, including its basic ideology and worshiped gods were surveyed. Separate research devoted to connection of the White Lotus sect with political incidents in China. Interaction of The White Lotus sect with other religious direction reflected. The paper consists of 40 pages. 4 fig., The research is divided in three main chapters. First chapter describes origin of the White Lotus sect and its development. Second chapter describes interaction with other religions, and influence from them. The third chapter represents political activities of the sect and role in rebellions.
