Grāmatas vērtības konstruēšana grāmatu kolekcionāra skatījumā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs apskata tuvāk to, kādā veidā grāmatu kolekcionārs konstruē grāmatas vērtību. Pētījumā tiek aplūkota grāmatas vērtības veidošana, raugoties uz to, kādu simboliku tai piesaista kolekcionārs, kā arī tas, kā grāmatas īpašnieki sasaista savu identitāti ar kolekciju, kā padara šo praksi par jēgpilnu, kā izvērš ārpus savas privātās telpas apkārtējā sabiedrībā. Lai to labāk izprastu, darbā esmu aplūkojusi, kā kolekcionēšanas prakse ir sākusies, tikusi izvērsta un kādas ir kolekcijas robežas, kas ļauj padziļinātāk skaidrot grāmatas vērtību.

This Bachelor thesis looks closer to the ways in which collectors construct the value of a book. Research looks closer to creation process of value by exploring, what kind of symbolic meanings is being attached to the book, how owner of the collection links his individuality with it, how he transforms this occupation in to meaningful practice and how it is being expanded from his private space to the surrounding society. To better understand this process, I have looked at the beginning of collecting practice, how it develops and what are the possible limits of collection that lets me deeper understand and explain value of the book.
