The bachelor thesis „Usage of Over-the-Counter Pain Relief Medication for Pain Management” is a research of how young people (aged 20-30 years) create notion of pain, analgesics and their use. Using Kleinman’s explanatory models and young people pain experience stories, the origin of pain, relevance of pain, as well as creation of non-prescription analgesic medication effect and the formation of ideas about the medicinal properties are explored. The study results indicate that over-the-counter analgesic medicines are normalized and integrated in management of pain episodes through reduction of relevance, assigned to pain and on the basis of idea about medication effects and construction of medication properties.
